The Universe Is Talking To Us

Here I am in Wide-Kneed Reverse Tabletop Pose, from my trip to Kephalonia. Reverse Tabletop Pose is a great counter pose to seated forward bends, strengthening the core on the backside. It’s slightly easier than Reverse Plank, so a great alternative for students who need a way into that pose. Widening the knees adds a hip challenge and exercises some new muscle groups, which you can feel if you do it. Hatha Yoga encourages us to move our spine in all orientations, facing forwards and back, up and down, moving the pressures and releases around the body, and helping to foster the all-round vision of the heart, rather than the one-sided point of view of the brain. As with reclined poses, we face the sky in reverse Table Pose, reminding our heart, soul, and spirit, of the vastness of our potential, and the unlimited interconnectivity of our being. Some people would say everything in nature, including our body, is an accident, without any meaning. Others would say nothing happens by accident, and everything is message talking to, and hoping to awaken our soul. You can’t prove it either way in terms of science, but you can try walking the path of belief in your life and see if it makes you happier. The difference between faith and doubt is the subtlest shift of focus, and often we flit between the two without even noticing. For yogis all of life is a spiralling fractal pattern, in which the microcosm, our body, is an expression of the macrocosm, the universe. The sky is literally talking to us, telling us we are free. The ground is literally hugging us with love, through a force called gravity, telling us we belong. In the middle, in the heart of our being, and the heart of our body, is the gift of life, which we know as ‘I’, which we often mistake for the ego, but which flows beyond our body, and arose, before our mind. 🙏🔥🧡🔥🙏
