Deep Tissue Massage

Inflamed muscle tissue around the hips, spine and shoulders can be debilitating and painful, severely affecting our health and wellbeing.

With over 20 years experience releasing muscle tissue, Stephen often uses a blend of Rosemary, Lemongrass and Francincense, to warm the muscles and reduce pain and inflammation. Following a careful process developed over years, Stephen starts with smooth, warming movements, slowly increase the work, pressure and precision on problem areas, before smoothing and calming the area back down.

Whether you need back and shoulders or full body treatment Stephen will work on problem areas, speeding your physical recovery, releiving inflammation, and boosting those health and wellbeing endorphins.

Here's what Derek had to say. 'I suffer from Spondylosis - Arthritis of the Spine and Neck. Before I had treatment with Stephen I had to use a lot of painkillers. Since regular treatments I've been able to cut right back on the painkillers. I've had lots of releif from back and neck pain. I also find the Reiki and Massage relaxing and uplifting to my mental condition.'

Reflexology and Foot Massage

Studies have shown that Reflexology reduces stress conditions like headaches, and can stimulate different parts of the body promoting healing, although there is no agreement on the mechanism. From years of teaching the Reflexology map at college, Stephen's theory is that the mechanism is a brain response to the pattern of walking and the reflexes created by the shockwaves that travel up the body when we move. Whatever the mechanism, massaging the feet and working on 'crunchy' areas, can be a profound and relaxing release that helps clients get out of their stressed minds, and holistically stimulate the bodies reflexes. For thousands of years humans walked barefoot benefitting from multiple foot reflexes. Reflexology helps restore that natural balance from the bottom up.

Foot Massage can also help clients relax, perhaps as part of a Reiki treatment, as well as working on congested and inflamed fibres in the heel of the foot, which may trigger conditions such as Plantar Fasciitis.

Reiki Treatment

The modern Reiki healing movement originated in Japan at the turn of the 20th Century, after its founder, Usui, completed his long search for the secret to healing. Reiki can help to balance, deeply relax, release, and energise the body and spirit. Soothing music is played and the hands are held in different positions on the fully clothed body, while the client relaxes. Clients often feel heat coming from the hands and can experience emotional release, deep feelings of rest and elevation and the sensation of being profoundly nurtured. Reiki can also be a great way to finish off a Deep Tissue Massage helping to sooth the muscles and tissue. Aromatherapy Massage

Aromatherapy is the application of essential oils extracted for their scents. Scents effect us through the reaction of the olfactory (scent) system, mental association through memory, and the molecular properties of the oil. A recent BBC documentary tested Lavender and Rosemary and found that Lavender did indeed sedate the mind whilst Rosemary stimulated the mind as predicted by centuries of experience and the molecules found in the oils. Essential oils can be inhaled but as a treatment they are usually massaged into the body blended with a massage oil. An Aromatherapy massage is effectively a Swedish Body massage with lymphatic drainage and essential oils.

Stephen always adds essential oils with every massage treatment according to the clients need, contra-indications, and taste, at no extra charge. He has a range of about 30 essential oils covering all the key aroma groups including flowers, fruits, spices, woods, leaves and berries. Stephen specialises in blends that combine therapeutic effects based on molecular properties, effects for which the oils are well know, the scent preference and mood of the client, and which oils combine well.

Years of teaching at Warrington Colleagiate have led to creating some wonderful blends. Examples include:

For Deep Tissue - Rosemary, Lemongrass and Frankincense to add heating, painkilling and cell recovery properties.

For Hormonal Issues - Geranium, Frankincense and Grapefruit for hormone balancing, and pore closing properties.

For a Spiritual, relaxing vibe - Frankincense, Sandalwood and Patchouli for that eastern flavour!

Indian Head Massage - Seated Massage

Indian Head Massage is really a seated back and shoulder massage, blended with a head and skull massage. Practised in India for centuries by parents on their children, it can be a wonderful relief for tension and strain in the shoulders, neck, scalp and face. An uplifting experience that is highly effective in the treatment of stress.

Mixed Holistic Therapies

Reflexology with Back Massage

Reflexology with Reiki

Deep Tissue with Aromatherapy

Full body massage with Deep Tissue

Massage with Yoga Therapy

Hands on treatment and Holistic coaching/counselling.

The best treatment is usually a blend of several therapies depending on your needs. Stephen uses essentail oils with all treatments unless you prefer not, and often ends a Deep Tissue with some Reiki to calm the muscles tissues and nervous system. Some Reflexology may be a great way to relax before a Reiki treatment. All treatments involve a consultation which may involve some counselling and coaching, and for many clients the conversation is a big part of what draws them to Stephen. A Deep Tissue may draws Stephen's attention to posture issues, and so he may suggest some yoga stretches and exercises to help.

The great news is Stephen simply charges for time whatever treatments you have, so he can really focus on what's best for you, and you can focus on healing and transformation.
