Frequently Asked Questions
Are Holistic Therapies Quackery?
No, so long as the Therapist doesn't make unrealistic claims. Holistic Therapies help in many ways. The best evidence is your direct experience. They are a simple and natural way to boost your health holistically. They are not a magic cure for everything but they are like tuning up your system on a regular basis so that you stay healthy. They help especially with stress related disorders and illnesses relating to imbalances in the various body systems.

Can you diagnose my illness?
No. A Holistic Therapist does not replace your doctor. Nowadays we tend to see ourselves as complementing the NHS. And the NHS recognizes this with its register of Complementary Therapists. It is true that Massage, Reflexology and Reiki can highlight problem areas in the body but we still recommend you see your doctor if you need a diagnosis. Holistic Therapies don't work by diagnosis. We apply the treatment holistically and the effect works holistically. Actually holistic treatments are not complicated. What really counts is that someone is spending an hour of their time applying a natural healing treatment person to person according to an established system that they have been trained in and which has already helped huge numbers of people.
Will I have to keep coming for treatments for the effect to stay?
Holistic treatments can be seen as part of a healthy lifestyle. Some people have a regular massage several times a month and I would argue its actually a good investment in your health. However if you have a particular problem like stress related headaches a 4 to 6 treatment course is the average recommendation. Some people come for one treatment and go away happy.
